As many of you may already know in exactly 1 week, I will be jetting off to Prague to spend a few days exploring with my boyfriend. Holidays, whether you are going for 2 days or 2 weeks, despite the excitement, you can’t deny the struggle of packing. If you are planning on going on a trip then you’ll probably have a huge range of things to look forward to. You’ll be excited about all the things you’re going to see and do, and you may even be excited to go out clothes shopping as well. One problem that you’ll probably run into is fitting everything into one suitcase. You may find that you have to sit on the case to try and get the zip to close, and even then it probably looks like it is going to pop open any minute. The last thing you’ll want is to have your underwear flying across the train when on your journey, so how do you avoid this?
Roll your Clothes
Everyone knows that by rolling your clothes, you can easily fit more into your suitcase. Another benefit of this is that rolled clothes have way fewer creases than folded clothes as well. Even if your clothes do crease, when you check into an apartment just like the ones on http://www.londonservicedapartments.co.uk/, you can easily ask for an iron and you’ll then be able to get everything straightened out ready to rumble and get going on that adventure you planned for so long.
Pack Out Your Shoes
Shoes take up a lot of space, especially if you have more than one pair of them. If you want to avoid this then try and make use of the space that you have by stuffing things inside them. Try and fill them with jewellery, underwear, socks and more. If you areworried and want to save more space, put your shoes on their sides and cram the heels with little bits, as this is the best way for you to make the most out of your space.
If you have a couple of items that keep on overflowing, then try and take them out and zip up your bag completely. This is even the case if you have to sit on it first. When you have done this, open the bag back up and add your items back in. The main reason behind this is that by closing the bag, you can compress your clothes while also squeezing out any extra air.
The Bundle Method is Your Friend
Still struggling? Then why not try the bundle method. This is when you take your smaller items, such as socks, before you wrap them up in larger items, such as t-shirts. You then wrap this up in your jeans, and so forth. This will essentially give you a “bundle” of clothes and it can really save you a lot of space if you are struggling with the wrapping method.
If the above methods and tips are not helping you to get your bag closed then it may be time for you to invest in an expandable bag. When you do this, you can easily fit everything you need. When you do have an expandable bag, make sure that you try and close it with the zippers shut, as this will compress the clothing down. When you have done this, unzip the expandable pockets, as this will mean that you can fit way more items in. Failing that, just zip it up with the expandable zips open.
