Something a little different today, I have been nominated by the beautiful Amy Lee for the Sunshine Bloggers Award 2018. Amy Lee is a lovely girl who I had the pleasure of meeting in the blogging community via Twitter. Her blog is fantastic and has some really great contents. I think it’s extremely important to support other bloggers and The Sunshine Awards is a great way of doing so.
The Sunshine bloggers award has been created by bloggers for bloggers to support one another and spread love and happiness around the blogging community. The rules are;
Thank the person who nominated you for the award and then link this back to their blog.
Answer the questions sent by the person who nominated you.
Nominate new blogs to receive the award and write them your own set of questions.
List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo in your post and/or your blog.
The questions Amy Lee asked me will be answered just below;
1) When and why? Did you start your blog
I have been on/off blogging since the age of 15. I always knew it was something I wanted to do, however, never really knew how to go about doing it. I originally started on the platform ‘Blogger’ and gave up… twice in fact! Then when I went travelling to Australia and Asia I decided to follow through with my hobby and passion. The reason I decided to blog was that I wanted somewhere I could go to express myself and find people who had similar interests as me.
2) What was your blog about when you first started and what is your blog about now?
My blog has always been about the same sort of things, to be honest, even now I’m not too sure what category I come under. I know I should be more organised with my platform but at the moment I’m happy and that’s all that matters. My blog is a mixture of lifestyle, travel and mental health. I have the odd aspect of blogging advice and beauty but those aren’t too common
3) What are 3 things you like about the blogging community?
I love how supportive everyone is, no matter what you may be going through someone is always there to make sure you are ok. I have had random people pop up just to ‘wish me luck’ ‘give me advice’ or simply just ‘asking if I’m ok’ which is so lovely to know you aren’t alone.
I also think it’s incredible how inspiring other bloggers in the community are. I so often read tweets or blog posts from other bloggers which make me think ‘wow, you are an incredible inspiration’. This inspires me to want to be the same for other people reading my stuff.
Last but not least, I LOVE all the people I’ve met through being a part of this community. I’ve not met a single one of my online friends in person but they are the most genuine friends I have. The internet truly is a remarkable place to meet amazing people.
4) What was your first ever blog post? & what is your most recent blog post?
My first few posts were awful, it’s genuinely amazing how much I’ve learnt and how far I’ve come. My very first post was titled Welcome 2017. It was simply just an introduction to me and my life. In the beginning, I really struggled with my grammar and contents but I’m so proud of how much I’ve improved these skills. My most recent post was a collaboration I did with the perfume ‘Clive Christian’. What an amazing opportunity that was. You can find that post over on The Perfect Gift Guide For The Perfect Princess
5) What would you say to a new blogger to help them out?
Don’t get caught up in wanting to become the next Zoella. I’m not saying it’s impossible, I’m sure your passion is strong enough and your contents are good enough but, it should not be your priority. If your reason for blogging is to become famous and make millions of pounds you are doing it for the wrong reasons. Do it because it makes you happy and fills a void in your soul, sounds intense but I’m afraid it’s true.
So there we have it, there are my answers to Amy’s questions and the questions I’d like to give my nominees are;
1) If you could go back and change one thing about your blogging journey, would you? if so, what?
2) Do you have any specific goals that you’ve set yourself for blogging this year?
3) Who are your favourite bloggers and why?
4) What would you say that is the greatest satisfaction of being a blogger?
5) Who is your biggest inspiration and why? (This doesn’t have to be blogger related)
With so many fantastic bloggers around, it’s hard to decide upon 5 to nominate. However, I would like to mention the following five beauties. Just because I think these ladies are lovely, extremely hard working on their blogs and deserve the nomination.
This time last year I was also nominated for The Liebster Award 2017 which you can find if you click this link here. Can’t believe it’s been a whole year since the last time I got involved in some blogging fun. Sometimes it’s better to not take blogging so seriously and have a little bit of fun with it… After all, that’s what blogging is all about.
