An Autumn Day Spent Discovering Kensington, London

An Autumn Day Spent Discovering Kensington, London

It’s a quiet, relaxing, Sunday afternoon and you have no plans? what do you decide to do? Well, for me I have always lived relatively close to London. With only an hours journey on the train, I decided I was going to head into the big city and go to explore the area of Kensington.

Kensington is one of the most popular areas, surrounded by grand, historical and beautiful buildings. So, this weekend I decided to get up and go and explore with my mother. Whether you are intrigued to find hotels near Kensington or just looking for somewhere yummy to eat lunch, this post has something for everyone.

So without further ado, here is my guide to the hidden gems you can find exploring The Royal Borough of Kensington.

Caffe Concerto

By the time we arrived, it was early afternoon so we decided that the first stop was going to be this little Italian cafe. Neither my mum or I had ever heard of this place before but we were immediately drawn in by the amazing cake selection on display. I would also be lying if I didn’t say the very attractive Italian waiters played a huge part on the reason we decided to eat here. You can find this rare gem hiding in High Street Kensington, directly down the road from The Royal Garden Hotel.

Not much is needed to be said as I’m sure the photos show so much more than my words ever could. What an amazing little place. Definitely worth a visit if you are ever in the area.

Hyde Park | Kensington Gardens

What’s a trip to Kensington without a stroll around the beautiful Hyde Park, especially in the autumn time! As you can see from the pictures below the scene was like something out of a movie. There’s something so relaxing about walking through these gardens regardless of how busy it may be. Everyone is in a world of their own and for a split second you can see back and watch the world pass by.

Kensington Palace

Kensington Palace can be found located in the heart of Kensington Gardens. Although, I did not manage to go inside as it was extremely busy there is still so much you can experience from outside. The gardens follow-on for acres and supply you with so much natural beauty. Just imagine being able to sit out watching the ducks and swans floating so elegantly around your garden lake. having a lake as part of your garden in itself is something completely out of this world and it was beautiful to have experienced this.

Cote Brasserie

We decided to end the day at a fantastic French restaurant that we actually discovered by accident. We were being nosey down some of the back streets and we came across one of the loveliest, authentic, and fabulous French restaurant. Sometimes it pays to go off the beaten track and see what else is lurking. As you can see by the pictures below this was definitely correct for our case.

Talk about the ideal Mother and Daughter date, I’ll definitely be in the good books for this one.

The spending money was gifted by Hotels.com, but all views are my own. As you can see we had a fantastic time and I would jump at the chance to experience this day all over again.
